Tools & Platforms

  • Collaboration Tools
    • Zoom, a tool for meeting with Lena
    • Microsoft Teams, a collaboration environment which can be used for hosting meetings, but is mainly for chat / collaborative conversation & where all the excel files live
  • Website Infrastructure
    • Bepress – the websites which Professor profiles are on, the ones called Selected Works live on software called bepress. Practicum students have their own bepress profiles, to get a feel for the backend technology which hosts the UMSL Professor Selected Works pages.
    • WordPress – where your activity log and the documentation for the workflow are (this is the website you’re reading now, it is a blog that exists on software, that software is WordPress).
    • Too many platforms end in ‘press’

    • The Discovery System is a site where you can find profiles and papers done by scholars in four of the universities/colleges in the UM System: University of Missouri-St. Louis, University of Missouri, University of Missouri-Kansas City, and Missouri S&T

  • Selected Works
    • The Selected Works in a gallery of scholars who have BePress profiles, which has the “SW Gallery” button selected

  • Publisher PDF
    • The Publisher’s PDF is the version of the article after it had been reviewed, formatted, and published for and in the journal
  • Post-Print
    • A Post-Print is a draft of a journal article after it has been peer reviewed and accepted for publication, but before it has been formatted by and for the journal
  • Pre-Print
    • A Pre-Print is a version of a journal article that precedes peer review and publication in a peer-reviewed scholarly journal
