4/18/2020: I watched the Practicum Introduction Video (30 minutes)
4/20/2020: I explored the wiki page for the practicum and created my own page. I also created a Bepress page and linked the two together (1.5 hrs).
4/21/2020: I attempted to become more familiar with Open Button by trying to use the “Try it” function. I tried and waited several times throughout the day however, it kept freezing and saying that it was loading (1.5 hrs).
4/22/2020: I met with Lena to discuss the practicum in greater detail (30 minutes).
5/26/2020: I met with Lena to discuss the beginning steps of the practicum including: orientation, setting up profiles on Bepress and WordPress, downloading Microsoft Teams, reading the Faculty Works on Microsoft Teams, watching the video on open access and exploring the workflow on the WordPress practicum blog (45 minutes).
5/28/2020: I read through all of the steps that were part of the orientation on the WordPress practicum blog (30 minutes). I edited my Bepress profile, I watched the youtube video about open access (30 minutes). I created a WordPress profile and read more about WordPress and how to use it and I looked at the flowchart that provides the steps of how to complete the work that is involved in the practicum (1 hr). I also read over the workflow and the faculty works as well attempting to get Open Button to load so that I could practice using it. Finally, I spent time writing this activity log (1.5 hrs). Total: 3.5hrs.
5/29/2020: I met with Lena to discuss an alternative workflow which involves work with the “F” faculty works (30 minutes). I began writing the instructions for finding new faculty works (30 minutes). Total: 1 hr.
5/30/2020: I finished creating the instructions for finding new faculty works (30 minutes). I created an spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel to keep track of which faculty members have new works (30 Minutes). I attempted to figure out how to get Zotero to work on an Ipad. After discovering that Zotero is not supported on an Ipad, I searched for an alternative app to save citations. After trying multiple other apps I found that Mendeley worked the best (1 hr). I also began searching Google Scholar and Google Books to find new faculty works. I searched for new works for the first two “F” faculty members (Rita Adkins and Shannon Ahrndt) and entered the results in the Excel spreadsheet (2 hours). Total: 4 hours.
5/31/2020: I searched Google Scholar and Google Books for new works for Jill Alexander, Jennafer Alexander, Manon Allard-Kropp, and Michael Allison. Total: 4 hours.
6/01/2020: I searched Google Scholar and Google Books for new works for Glen Anderson, Kenneth Anderson and Brendolyn Bailey-Birch. Total: 3 hours.
6/03/2020: I met with Lena to go over my workflow and discuss possible adjustments and I watched the prerequisite video for the Bepress selected works training. Total: 40 minutes

6/06/2020: I began to explore Google Forms (30 minutes). I searched Google Scholar and Google Books for new works by Deborah Baldini, Maria Balogh and Michelle Barrier (2 1/2 hours). I entered new works on the Bepress profiles of Shannon Ahrndt, Glen Anderson and Brendolyn Bailey-Birch (1 hour). Total: 4 hours.
6/08/2020: I started searching for new works by Edward Bennett and recording the citations of the new works to be entered in Google Forms. Total: 2 hours.

6/16/2020: I tried to fix some formatting issues in the Google Form however, I was unable to fix the issues so I had to create a new form and re-enter the information for new faculty works (2 hrs).
