St. Paul

unnamed (5).png

Founded in 1841, the St. Paul African Methodist Epsicopal Church moved to its Mill Creek Valley location in 1890. This location at Leffingwell Avenue was the only St. Louis church that was built by African Americans for an African American community. The Mill Creek Valley urban renewal project razed the church in the 1960s, but the organization moved to a new location on Hamilton Avenue.
